About CA Support
Matthew Hull (He/Him)
Support Specialist
Matthew brings a grounded, practical, and person-centred approach to support, with a strong focus on safety, connection, and meaningful change.
With lived experience, military service in the Australian Army, and extensive frontline experience across mental health, suicide prevention, advocacy, and community services, Matthew understands that distress doesn’t happen in isolation, and that effective support needs to consider the person, their environment, relationships, and the systems around them.
With over 15 years of experience across construction, mining, mental health, and community-based roles, he brings a unique understanding of the pressures faced by veterans, first responders, blue-collar workers, and those navigating trauma, burnout, major life stress, or significant life transitions.
Matthew’s work is grounded in trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, systems-aware, and strengths-based practice, drawing from ACT, DBT-informed approaches, solution-focused practice, psychosocial recovery coaching principles, and person-centred counselling frameworks. His approach is collaborative, direct, and practical, balancing emotional support with genuine skill-building, advocacy, and real-world support.
Currently completing his Master of Counselling, Matthew combines academic training with extensive real-world experience to provide support that feels informed, relatable, and genuinely useful.
